My first post is simply about the team I love, Liverpool FC. A team with a rich history, the greatest in European football. It is a club that welcomes anyone, any race, age etc. The Suarez incident aside, Liverpool is an honest, clean, well run club.
Many have said to me in the past "Why do you support Liverpool if you live down South?" or words to that effect. I am the only Liverpool supporter in my family, my mother's side all support Chelsea, and on my father's side, Man Utd. and Arsenal. This surprises people, but they have never asked me what actually led me to be a Liverpool fan, in spite of my upbringing.
It is all down to one player- Michael Owen. It might be an odd thing to happen, but my deep admiration for Owen as a toddler, consequently developed my passion for Liverpool. He summarised everything there is to love about football- the power to bring thousands of people together to watch the game they love.
